Vocal,Drums:Rena Toshimitsu
Rena Toshimitsu is a Tokyo-based vocalist and drummer originally from Saitama, Japan. Influenced by her mother, a soprano singer, she developed an early interest in music.
After graduating from the music program at Saitama Prefectural Omiya Koryo High School, she completed her studies in the Jazz Course at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, graduating top of her class and being selected as a distinguished graduate for her final research project. She studied jazz drums under Masahiko Osaka.
She has performed with numerous artists, including tenor saxophonist Seiichi Nakamura and pianist Tsuyoshi Yamamoto. In 2025, she joined tours in Shanghai and Beijing, and later participated in the Japan tour of Australian bassist and vocalist Nicki Parrott, further expanding her presence both in Japan and internationally.
Following her solo concert in 2022, she began focusing more seriously on her work as a vocalist. In recent years, her unique performance style--singing while playing the snare drum--has drawn increasing attention. She continues to explore a musical expression that bridges the perspectives of both drummer and vocalist.
In addition to her active performance schedule at jazz clubs across the Kanto area, she also works as a jazz drum instructor at bf Jazz School.
Guitar:Naoto Suzuki
Born in Tokyo in 1976, Naoto Suzuki began studying music at an early age, including piano, violin, drums, and guitar. A winner of the 2004 Gibson Jazz Guitar Contest, he gained international recognition in 2014 when he performed with Lee Ritenour at Blue Note Tokyo and placed 4th worldwide in the Jazz/Fusion Guitarist Division of Lee Ritenour's Six String Theory World Competition. He performs and records with artists across a wide range of genres and has appeared at jazz festivals throughout Japan and around the world.
Bass:Joe Endo
Born in 1989, Sadamu Endo began his musical studies on piano and string instruments before turning to the bass at age sixteen. He launched his professional career while attending Senzoku Gakuen College of Music and won both First Prize and the Best Performance Award at the 2nd Chigusa Award Competition in 2015. Since releasing three acclaimed albums, he has been active throughout Japan as both a jazz bassist and a solo performer, and has collaborated with many leading musicians across the jazz scene.
9/25 Fri.
Vocal:Sari
Born in Yokohama, Japan, Sari is a jazz vocalist and daughter of renowned jazz saxophonist Seiichi Nakamura. Raised in a musical environment, she developed a passion for musical theater from an early age, studying dance and musical repertoire at the Diana Ishiyama Song & Dance Musical School beginning at age five.
At sixteen, she discovered jazz through the album Ella Sings the Cole Porter Songbook, borrowed from her father -- an experience that inspired her to pursue a career as a jazz singer.
After graduating top of her class from the Jazz Vocal Department of Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, she continued her studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Upon returning to Japan, she won first prize at the Osaka Asian Dreams Jazz Vocal Competition 2013.
Today, Sari is active not only as a performer but also as the host of the radio program "Otona no Jazz Time." In addition, she has worked extensively as a voice artist and vocalist for television commercials, including narration for the well-known bridal campaign "Zexy."
Her latest release is the 2024 collaborative album Musical Theater Songbook Vol.1 with pianist Yuya Wakai.
Guitar:Hiroyoshi Horie
Winner of the 2017 Gibson Jazz Guitar Contest, Hiroyoshi Horie is an acclaimed guitarist, composer, and arranger based in Japan. He performs with various ensembles including his own trio, Mokomoko, Nejimon, the Junichi Yanagi Duo, Pochotto, and Offhand.
To date, he has released four albums as a bandleader. In addition to live performance, he is active in recording for NHK radio programs, musical theater productions, and commercial music projects.
As a composer and arranger, Horie has also contributed original works to the background music streaming service H2music.ch. His artistic activities extend into interdisciplinary projects, including performances inspired by literary works such as Maihime by Mori Ogai.
With deep admiration for Barney Kessel, he continues pursuing the traditional art of jazz guitar while aiming to become one of the world's leading guitarists.
Piano:Yuki Muto
Began studying classical piano at the age of five. During junior high and high school, he played the oboe in concert band. While attending Chuo University, he discovered jazz and joined the university's big band, the Swing Crystal Orchestra.
In June 2018, he released his debut album, I Loves You, Porgy. Today, he is active across a wide range of musical genres, with a primary focus on jazz, while also working as an arranger, composer, music provider, and creator of sound logos.
