***in Residence Kyoto × Nuit Blanche Kyoto Exhibition by Yu Koshio

NOHGA HOTEL has engaged in several initiatives emphasizing our connection with art, including our artist-in-residence program.
As part of "***in Residence Kyoto" Open Day held in conjunction with Nuit Blanche Kyoto, we're hosting a special exhibition. We're delighted to welcome back Yu Koshio, who stayed with us as a residence earlier this March, for a new installation in our Lobby Lounge.
On Open Day only, we'll also be opening spaces usually reserved for our guests, including Meditation Room and the artist's room, for the public to explore. We'd love for you to join us.

【Fall, Dawn, Flow】
With "care" as a guiding theme, I create flower designs by cutting, tearing, and collaging hand-drawn paper.
For this exhibition, autumn is the motif: a series of printed textiles bringing new color and texture to the spaces of NOHGA HOTEL KIYOMIZU KYOTO.
Autumn is a season that honors the layers of time. By weaving together the shifting of nature with the deepening of the heart, this exhibition has been titled "Fall, Dawn, Flow". I hope you'll share in the joy of new encounters and beginnings this season brings.

Yu Koshio
Koshio interprets "care" as cultivating inner richness--sometimes with the help of others--and develops collage-based works from that perspective. He also engages in community-making and workshops with high school students, extending this practice into everyday life.
